As a respected leader in the field of architectural conservation and historic restoration, this New York-based firm specializes in preserving landmark buildings through expert craftsmanship and precise project execution. This internship is ideal for civil engineering or construction management students eager to gain field-level exposure. Interns will work directly under a seasoned construction superintendent, assisting in the daily management of on-site operations and ensuring work progresses safely, efficiently, and in alignment with restoration goals.
Participants will gain real-time experience managing active construction sites, develop knowledge of logistics, site coordination, and problem-solving in restoration projects, and build an understanding of the superintendent’s role in heritage conservation. Additionally, they will be exposed to specialized techniques in the preservation of historic structures.
Aufgaben
- Assist with daily site supervision and subcontractor coordination
- Monitor progress against project schedules and report any delays
- Support site safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
- Help track material deliveries and inventory usage
- Conduct and document site inspections and quality control checks
- Communicate daily updates to the project management team
- Learn to resolve on-site issues in real time under professional guidance
- Observe coordination between trades, city inspectors, and engineers
Qualifikationen / Voraussetzungen
