This program is ideal for travelers aged 18–25 who want to contribute meaningfully to environmental regeneration while experiencing rural Brazil in an authentic, supportive, and international setting. Volunteers are based at a research and conservation center surrounded by trails, waterfalls, wildlife, small family farms, and vibrant local communities. The environment is safe, tranquil, and perfect for disconnecting from city life and reconnecting with nature.
Aufgaben
Trail & Reserve Maintenance:
- Clearing and repairing forest trails
- Maintaining signage and simple infrastructure
- Checking fences to protect seedlings from cattle
Environmental Education & Cultural Exchange:
- Supporting school visits to the forest (depending on school calendar)
- Assisting with activities for local children and youth
- Sharing games, stories and cultural exchange activities with students
- Taking part in community events related to culture, art and environment
Living Pharmacy & Medicinal Plants:
- Learning from local community members about medicinal plants
- Assisting with plant identification and basic documentation
- Helping to maintain the medicinal garden (planting, weeding, soil care)
- Participating in workshops on natural soaps, creams, infusions, etc.
Communications, Media & Program Support:
- Taking photos and short videos of daily life at the reserve
- Creating simple content to support awareness and fundraising efforts
- Supporting with basic research, writing or design tasks (depending on profile)
Independent Projects
Volunteers are welcome to propose small independent projects (for example: biodiversity photography, environmental education materials, or a social media mini-campaign), as long as they align with the center’s mission and are approved by the local team.
Qualifikationen / Voraussetzungen
- 18+
- You are curious, flexible, open to rural living and not afraid of mud, rain, and hands-on work outdoors.
- Good English level
- No Portuguese needed
- A minimum commitment of 2 weeks
